Tickling in "Mai Dire Domenica"
Tickling is often adopted as a comic expedient in gags because of the spontaneous laughter reaction it produces in who experience it, making laugh at inopportune moments.
We have an example of this in this gag in an Italian television program.
The showman exhibits a so-called shoe that ensures maximum freedom: in other words, it has no sole. Then he says that it also allows people to scratch their feet, and tickles the girl wearing it. She laughs, and the showman reminds her that this is no laughing matter.
Tickling in "The Purge" (2013)
Tickling is a phenomenon that amuses but also upsets, as the body of the one being tickled does not respond as it should. The ticklish victim falls prey to the urge to laugh and wriggle and is unable to behave as he or she would like. In some entertainment products, tickling is used precisely as a means to make the victim lose control, who is too busy laughing to react lucidly.
